ThreadLab






Three weeks ago i launched a new home decor label designing and producing unique hand painted cushions and tea towels. ThreadLab was born out of my love for adapting and updating interiors with minimal effort. It's amazing what a few new cushions thrown on a couch or bed can do to a whole room, they can change the whole feel and environment, they can draw in other factors in the room to create cohesive design or add contrast and character to an otherwise lifeless room. 

Threadlab started when i bought my very first couch 4 weeks ago to go in my recently purchased first home. Actually i lie it started as soon as i went to the first open home for my house, i fell in love with it right away and printed A3 coloured photographs of every room the next day, within hours those photographs were covered in sketches and notes planning and designing where everything would go right down to the cushions on the couch. I was so excited and even had the cushions created well before move in day. It wasn't until friends started commenting on my cushions and the interest started to grow to the point where people were offering to pay me to make them some *light bulb moment* that i realised i could actually make something of this and i could certainly do with the extra money being a first home buyer and that point right there was when ThreadLab was born.

At this stage ThreadLab is operated via it's Facebook page with plans to grow into a big kids website in the near future. We are based down under in the tiny but substantial Auckland, New Zealand. It's been a very busy few weeks for ThreadLab, we've literally hit the ground running since launching and have been overwhelmed by the interest and demand. We're very excited to share our favourite creations so far and in the next few weeks we'll be introducing a new tea towel print as well as a range of pre made cushion covers available for purchase via the Facebook page so sit tight while we continue to create.
